About the event

A monthly comedy night hosted by Samantha Day, the award winning comedian and Chief Bat at the Cackling Bat Comedy Club.  Doors open at 8pm, first act at 8.30pm.

February's acts include:

Jonny Awsum

After building his reputation on the UK comedy circuit, where he is a regular headliner and closing act, Jonny shot to national fame on Britain’s Got Talent. His TV performances won standing ovations and unanimous praise from the judges and went viral on the internet, racking up over 50 million views on YouTube.

Following BGT, Jonny enjoyed a whirlwind 18 months including a sell-out five-star reviewed run at the Edinburgh.

In 2022, Jonny performed at the Glastonbury Festival, supported Jason Manford in arenas around the country and recorded his 2000th show for a new live album.

Jonny regularly pops up on TV and radio. He has featured on BBC Breakfast, GMTV, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 5 Live and Absolute Radio.

What they're saying about Jonny Awsum: "Guaranteed to lift your spirits" ***** Daily Mirror  "Brilliantly went to town...we couldn't want for anything more!" - David Walliams   "It was so smart, I think this whole kind of musical thing, singing, it really works for you because it makes you stand out, I like you a lot" - Simon Cowell   "Jonny Awsum positively smashed this musical comedy show, taking the audience all the way with him...That's entertainment" **** Chortle  "It was absolutely was the best ending to a show ever!" - Amanda Holden

Mike McLean

Mike is  one of the best and funniest Mind readers on the circuit and is always busy either on tour or traveling the world with his act.  His razor-sharp delivery has made him a favourite both on the circuit and in the corporate world.

If you like Derren Brown then you’re going to love Mike, he’s like him only cheaper and a little naughtier, Mike doesn’t have magical powers or psychic ability and neither does he ever work with stooges or plants to achieve his work. The unwitting participants on his show are entirely genuine and easily fooled.

Review:“McClean was on top form. His brutal handling of the slew of latecomers had us in tears. While his mind-reading segments were genuinely impressive, it was the jokes people were talking about on the way out. A great night out.”

TV Credits: Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast, ITV’s Richard & Judy, XFM Manchester Breakfast show & Presenter for a whole host of television shows for the BBC, ITV, C5, Sky1 & Nickelodeon.  Mike also appeared in the office Xmas special with Ricky Gervais, and as an actor he played Father Tony in Shameless.
